Why develop a sea route from Chennai to Vladivostok?
Shipping route hugs SE Asian and East Asian coasts and connects southern point of India to the most significant port in Russia's Far East. It subsumes the India-Japan Ocean route; and overlaps with Chinese maritime route to Indian Ocean. Investment by India, Russia and Japan would facilitate trade for all these countries. Most importantly it allows India to invest in Russia's Far East for mutual benefit.
