WOMEN and CHILD SAFETY
Ministry of Women & Child D. will spend Rs 2,900cr on safety in top 7 Tier 1 cities plus Lucknow. Smart cities technologies will be used as they are cost-effective-- to secure large area, collect evidence, monitor suspects, help coordinate interventions and focus attention or resources on high-crime zones. Besides, there are upgrades to policing, community support, skill development, preventative infrastructure and sensitisation.

° Remote monitoring of city lighting (safe lighting)
Skill development of key personnel

° Cyber and forensics labs for investigating crimes (priority given to crimes against women)

° Integrated centre for women and children in need (rehabilitation for those subject to crimes)
° Improved sanitation facilities for women (separate toilets)
° Women-friendly changes in public places (women safety and well-being, eg Sabarmati riverfront)
