TriNetra can detect objects and minor cracks on railway tracks up to 2 km away!! The infra-red & laser rays detection system fitted on locos lets trains run at over 100 kmph without compromising safety!! TriNetra deals with number of hazards like track fracture, track sabotage and unsafe crossing of railway lines. IR will operate these detectors—on 4000 trains—in foggy and smoggy North India before taking them nationwide.
IR will also fit advanced train protection & warning system on major truck routes (like GQ) and 6000 electric locos, for Rs12,000cr. It stops trains from jumping red signals and provides real-time notice of signals or congestion, thus allowing trains to run safely and faster.
